Interior Design

We design the room, then we make the joinery that goes in it.

Design, build, make

Most interior projects in Lagos pass through three sets of hands: a designer who draws, a contractor who builds, and a supplier who provides the furniture. Each hand-off is where intent gets lost, and where a scheme quietly becomes whatever was easiest to source.

We hold all three. The drawings are ours, the site team is ours, and the joinery is made in our own workshop by IKINI, our furniture arm. Nothing has to be redesigned around what a catalogue happens to stock.

Most of our work is renovation

Very few clients come to us with an empty shell. They come with a house they already own and already live in, where the walls, the openings and the floor levels are fixed and the budget is finite.

That is a harder brief than a blank plan and, done well, a more satisfying one. The work is to find the scheme that makes sense of what is there — which openings to keep, where a wall genuinely earns its removal, and where money is better spent on light and joinery than on moving structure.

Lighting first

The single biggest difference between a room that looks designed and one that does not is rarely the furniture. It is the lighting, and it is decided before the ceiling closes.

We plan in layers — cove washes, recessed downlights, backlit panels, lit display niches, task and feature lighting — each on its own circuit, so a room reads one way at breakfast and another at dinner. It cannot be retrofitted cheaply, so we design it at the start.

What you get

Space planning, scheme design and material specification. Full fit-out and construction. Bespoke joinery — kitchens, wardrobes, media walls, shelving — drawn by us and made by IKINI. Furniture, lighting design and procurement. Whole-house or a single room.

Our Furniture Arm

IKINI

Every piece of joinery we specify can be made in our own workshop — the same building as our design studio. Kitchens, wardrobes, media walls, shelving and freestanding furniture, drawn and built by the same practice.
