TYPOLOGY: Commercial

SIZE: Varying Sqm

STATUS: 2013 Design Proposal

We were commissioned to create a range of prototypes to help rejuvenate a well respected and grounded fast food brand. The brand has been operating a franchise model over the years and as such individual franchisees would be responsible for the modifications/renovations to be made to their buildings.

As part of the brief, we are expected to ensure affordability for these renovations thus our design concept on all prototypes. The concept is ease in building and need for as little modifications as possible. We have also opened up the frontages to create lightness for these small building spaces and to also provide advertising spaces for items and meal offers.

Our philosophy for this was influenced by the slogan of Mr. Biggs ‘Always Good’ and thus resulted in the use of materials that can positively be addressed with such a slogan -in this case Glass and Steel. As a result we have retained the form that occurs in the outlets that we have no control over the shape and form of the building and have add-ons that are peculiar to the brand . Also colours that have depicted the brand over the years are adequately pronounced. We have also brought a more contemporary feel to the brand with these designs that provides transparency, flexibility, compactness, light weight just to name a few.
